Volunteer Work
Vice President
August 2023 - December 2023
As the Vice President of Indian Students at Rice University (ISAR), I played a pivotal role in fostering cultural exchange, inclusivity, and a sense of community among students. My contributions included organizing large-scale cultural events, such as festivals and awareness campaigns, that celebrated Indian traditions while inviting participation from the diverse student body. I was responsible for planning and executing these events by coordinating with various stakeholders, managing budgets, and overseeing logistics to ensure their success. Additionally, I collaborated with the executive team to provide mentorship and support for incoming international students, helping them navigate their transition to campus life.
This opportunity allowed me to hone key leadership and organizational skills, including effective communication, team management, and strategic planning. It also deepened my understanding of the importance of creating inclusive spaces where people from different backgrounds can connect and learn from each other. Through my role, I not only contributed to the enrichment of the Rice University community but also gained valuable experience in stakeholder engagement and event management, which continues to influence my professional and personal growth.
March 2021 - April 2021
As a student volunteer for the Lions Club of Mhow during the COVID-19 pandemic, I actively contributed to relief efforts by addressing the needs of underprivileged communities. My responsibilities included sourcing essential groceries from local stores, assembling them into care packages along with safety kits containing masks, sanitizers, and hygiene essentials. These kits were then distributed to economically vulnerable individuals, ensuring they had access to basic necessities during the crisis.

In addition to distribution, I engaged with the community to raise awareness about the dangers of COVID-19 and preventive measures such as social distancing, mask usage, and proper hand hygiene. This interaction not only provided immediate support but also empowered individuals with knowledge to protect themselves and their families.
This experience taught me the value of empathy, teamwork, and effective communication during a crisis. It reinforced my commitment to community service and enhanced my ability to work under challenging circumstances while making a meaningful impact.
